Summer 2018 | Prayer Requests | The Coming Fall

Dear Friends and Family, I have completed my freshman year at Moody Bible Institute – Spokane and am now back in California for the summer. As I have been away, it has been very difficult to stay in touch with many of you. So, I will be sending out prayer letters with updates of my program, ministry, and life in hopes to stay connected. I hope and pray that you all will be able to email/mail me as well so that I can also hear from you and join with you in prayer.
Since my graduating from high school in 2015, I have taken two gap years where I worked and volunteered in ministry, including a missions trip to Poland. In this past year, I finished the first of five years in Moody Bible Institute’s Missionary Aviation program, which has been one of the most amazing times of my life. Once the program is complete, I will graduate with a maintenance Airframe and Power Plant Certification, commercial pilots license with instrument rating, as well as a bachelors degree in Missionary Aviation. With this degree and training, I plan on going into full-time ministry. Two types of missions I could do is either traditional missionary aviation, which would mean flying in difficult terrain for missionaries and relief work, or business as missions, which would be using my degree and skills to get into a country that does not typically allow missionaries. I do not know where God will send me, but I am praying that He will lead me according to His timing. I hope that you can also join me in praying for His guidance.
Life here in Spokane has been fantastic and the school culture is just amazing and so encouraging. However, there was some news that came to us on November 8th, 2017 that really broke our spirits for a while. Moody Chicago (the main campus) sent students, faculty, and professors all an email telling us that they are closing the Moody Spokane campus at the end of the school year but would keep the Aviation campus open.
While this is devastating to all of us, God has remained strong and with us through it all. The aviation campus will remain in Spokane as it is still going strong, but the rest of the students and professors will have to find a new path to walk. But some of our amazing professors here are being led by God to open a new university in Spokane which is planned be open in the fall under the name Great Northern University. The professors are taking a huge leap of faith in doing this as they will be personally making no money from this college during the first two or three years.
Please be praying for the leadership at the aviation campus as they lead us through this difficult and uncertain time. We know that God has brought the aviation program through very hard times in the past and He will be faithful through this time as well. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The next year is going to be very intense as I move forward in this adventure God has guided me into. I will be taking 43 credits in grueling classes that will be taxing physically, mentally, and spiritually. I know that I am inadequate to do this program or be a missionary on my own strength and need lots of prayer for God to continue to strengthen me. And as it is a very expensive program I might be set back due to finances. For this next semester alone I have to pay over $11,000, which I do not have yet, due to a lack of financial aid. This is a large step of faith for me and will be constantly keeping me on my knees in prayer as I rely on God for everything.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you. I pray for you all that God would continue to lead you and guide you and that you will all grow in His love daily.
– Your friend and brother in Jesus Christ, Kyle White
